VINCENT VAN DUYSEN WORKS 2009-2018 BOOK (ENGLISH)

Since the publication of his first monograph, Vincent Van Duysen has solidified his well-deserved reputation thanks to his buildings, which demonstrate unparalleled spatial mastery and highly refined details, and has gained increasing followers worldwide. This beautiful volume brings us closer to thirty of the works the Belgian architect has created in this last decade, many of which have been beautifully immortalized by celebrated photographers Hélène Binet and François Halard. The buildings included from this recent period show a wide variety of elegant residences located in Europe, New York, Paris, and The Hamptons, as well as larger-scale public and commercial projects. Examples of product and furniture designs are also shown, allowing us to delve into the microcosm the architect creates with his rigorous attention to detail, which also includes yacht interiors and decorative elements.
Julianne Moore, an Oscar winner and close friend of the architect, is responsible for the foreword of this volume, in which architect Nicola di Battista and architecture critic Marc Dubois also participate to offer a broader vision of Van Duysen's contribution to contemporary architecture. All accompanied by an illustrated chronology that offers a complete idea of the architect's latest projects.
